NWGAAD - The Red Pump Project Dallas - DIVA SWAP

Women and Girls are Taking Action in the Fight Against HIV/AIDS

National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGAAD) is a nationwide observance that encourages people to take action in the fight against HIV/AIDS and raise awareness of its impact on women and girls.

Red Pump asks...What can you do?

The first step to raising awareness, promoting education and increasing prevention of HIV/AIDS in women and girls is making sure that you...

KNOW YOUR STATUS!

With that thought in mind I decided to host an event that will get a large group of women and girls in one place and test them all for HIV!!

What do women LOVE? .......SHOPPING! FASHION! FUN!

With a recession in full swing, I decided a clothing swap with vendors, silent auctions, networking, raffles, and professional fashion advice would be a GREAT way to achieve my goal!

Clothing swaps are fashionable, fun, and a charitable way to refresh your wardrobe. De-clutter that closet! Bring all your unwanted but AWESOME items that you no longer wear (or never got to wear).

All un-swapped clothing will be donated to LifeNetTexas.org! **

LifeNet helps individuals with mental illness and chemical dependency find permanent supportive housing and supported employment. This is an agency that has helped a loved one of mine and I know that all donations are APPRECIATED and utilized in the spirit in which they were donated!

What a great event. Fashion, fun, saving money, and saving lives. Yes, yes, yes.

I hope everyone has a great time. We hope to threw our first event in September and HIV/AIDS will be the our cause. Just have to work out all the details.

Sounds like a great event. Have you seen the Harlem AIDS Forum 2 yet? It is very powerful! It is the most important forum of its kind in many years. What’s wrong with the HIV tests? How safe are HIV drugs? Check out the clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g74Q7CtURTk
