APRIL is POETRY month..

Inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, National Poetry Month is now held every April, when publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, schools and poets around the country band together to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture. Thousands of businesses and non-profit organizations participate through readings, festivals, book displays, workshops, and other events.

I have several ways I plan on celebrating this year, but my first order of business is to challenge myself to right a poem EVERY DAY in April...I will post one here everyday and I would love for you to post in the comments to help celebrate a love of language arts!

The first one is a HAIKU cuz I need a warmup or two (hey, that rhymed.....WOMP WOMP) ok here goes:

hoes into housewives...
and you are NOT the father...
you ARE April's fool!

Also, I have been challenged to finish my book of poems before I turn 31. I am feeling kind of trapped in my subject matter and I love to step outside of my creative that end, I thought that the best way for me to do that would be for people to give me topics or perspectives that they would enjoy a poetic pieces about...if you wanna be my me at
